my loaded pickguard has 4 wires when it should have 3!

im talking about the alnico 3 strat (off a highway 1) when there is normally 2 wires going to the jack, and 1 to the bridge claw, i have 4 in total ALL BLACK? what can i do without having to pay a guitar tech?!

also it is fender custom shop greasebucket pot wiring stuff...will that matter?

It is normal now to have 4 wires. The extra one is another ground wire. It should just be grounded to the body. Go to www.axeblaster.com/wiring (http://www.axeblaster.com/wiring) and click on the Mexican HSS pickguard. At the top of the page there should be a link to a wiring diagram that shows where the wires go.
