I've attempted to install an LSR on an ebony aftermarket strat neck. Here's how I did it. Remove the factory nut. I used a hair drier to heat it up making the removal much easier. I pulled it out with needle nose pliers. Next place the LSR over top of the gap. The edge that is closest to the tuner side will NOT BE cut, you will expand the other side towards the bridge. With the LSR lined up with the tuner side gap, make a mark with a pencil to indicate how far you'll be filing. I used a metal finger nail file to carve this out. Just concentrate on the width of the gap, not the depth at first. When the gap is wide enough to tightly squeeze the nut into place, you'll work on the depth. I accomplished this by using a wider file and wrapping 400 grit sand paper around it. Check the depth often by inserting the LSR into the gap. The fit should be snug. Use a rosewood color wood filler to fill in any goofs and sand with 1000 grit sand paper.
My other suggestion would be take it to a pro and have it done! It's very time consuming and a difficult project.
